Why do I keep going on about New Releases?

I’ve been banging on about this for so long now, it’s about time I looked at whether the data I’ve gathered actually supports my rants. Which, to recap, are:

1. Apple removed New Releases from the App Store, then reinstated them but hidden away below a fake “New” section where most users won’t find them. [...]

Splatter the Difference in App Store horror

This is not good. Our latest app has just been approved by Apple, and I’m the least thrilled I’ve ever been about passing a review.

Our horror-themed spot the difference game, Splatter the Difference, will be available for download any minute now. Straight away, I need to add that this is not our usual family-friendly [...]

And streeeeeetch….

With the announcement of the iPhone 5 last week, Apple kindly introduced a whole new level of fragmentation to the iOS platform.

I’m not exactly pleased. That’s something we like to mock Android for.

OK, so it’s still not quite that bad, but now instead of having two screen shapes to develop for, we have [...]

Zombies and spiders and scares, oh my!

So far our range of games has all been family-friendly.

We’ve been careful to ensure that user-submitted content is moderated and suitable for the whole family. We want our games to be played by the whole family – not only to make sure that all ages can play, but that they can even be played [...]

An Interview With Nick Proud

Nick made all the music and sound effects for Splat the Difference, listening to our crazy requests and somehow managing to create just what we wanted As a follow up to our post about the creation of the music, I interviewed Nick and here are his responses.

When and why did you first start [...]

An open letter to Brian Baglow

[Background: Brian Baglow (@flackboy) runs ScottishGames.net and was a speaker at Develop earlier this month. At the end of his session, I was the only person to ask a question that wasn't "how Scottish do I have to pretend to be for you to write about me?". I was also the only person not to [...]

Splat the Difference. In sketches.

Our new game, Splat the Difference, is now available in the App Store. It snuck through the approval process quietly last night while we weren’t looking, and we woke to found it live and that people were already playing!

We’ll most likely announce this with a little more fanfare, and hopefully some better quality media, [...]

Musical Splats

Just as we were beginning development on Splat the Difference we were contacted by local composer Nick Proud of Melodica Studios. He’d contacted us rather out of the blue through our support system. Emails like this often get declared spam and ignored, but for some reason I paused long enough to check out his Sound [...]

Choosing Images for Splat the Difference

When we decided to make a spot the difference game we knew that content was going to be a challenge. We figured we had lots of photos that people had submitted to Jigsaw Party which we could use, alongside our own photos. We thought it didn’t matter what the picture was as they’d still make [...]
